Your vehicle’s exhaust is no longer a simple pipe system designed to channel fumes away from the engine with a silencer to reduce any noise. On modern cars, exhausts are now full emission control systems that use the very latest technology to reduce your vehicle’s impact on the environment.

Usually the first sign that something isn’t quite right with your exhaust is a noise developing; many customers report hearing a rattle, hiss, roar or chugging noise when something is amiss.

Common signs to look out for include:

  • Knocking or rattling noises from an exhaust part becoming loose
  • Part of the exhaust becoming low or dragging on the road
  • Your exhaust sounding louder
  • Visible holes or excessive corrosion
  • An increase in smoke coming from the exhaust

Physical damage to the exhaust is a common reason for an exhaust part in need of replacement. Knocks and bumps from speed humps and high curbs can damage the exhaust; you may be able to spot this damage yourself before your exhaust check. This will depend on where the damage is, sometimes it’s not easy to see until your car is on a lift and the entire underside of the vehicle can be seen.

All exhausts corrode over time from both inside and out, how long this takes to happen will depend on what mileage you do and what your vehicle is used for; a car used for town driving will tend to get exhaust corrosion more quickly than one doing motorway miles. It’s not necessarily down to how old the exhaust is as to when it’ll need replacing.

Our technicians are trained to diagnose faults with your exhaust system and will advise you on the best way to deal with them. In many cases, if a problem is spotted early enough, we can replace a single section as opposed to the entire exhaust system which will save you both time and money. Sometimes exhausts are perfectly fine but just needs re securing with a replacement exhaust bracket.

Batteries are the biggest cause of breakdowns in the UK so it makes sense to get yours checked to ensure it’s not going to let you down!

We offer a battery health check. If we find that you need a new battery, we have the team to get you back on the road.

Air Conditioning

Not only does air conditioning keep you cool whilst you’re driving, it also helps to filter out pollen, pollutants and airborne bacteria making the environment within your car much cleaner and healthier.

If your air conditioning isn’t as cold as you remember it may just need a recharge. Over time, vehicle air-conditioning systems lose their gas, especially when they’re not used regularly. This means that when you come to use your Air Conditioning on a hot day it’s not as icy cold as it should be.

Most manufacturers recommend an air con recharge at least every 2 years to ensure the system is working as fully as it should be. Our  technicians are expertly trained to ensure that your air-conditioning works as efficiently as possible.

Your vehicle suspension ensures all four of your tyres on the road providing maximum grip and safety. It’s vital for all your suspension components to be in good condition if you’re to enjoy a smooth, comfortable drive with excellent stability and reliable vehicle handling.

Suspension parts are designed to work together to absorb any impact from bumps and irregularities on the road surface. Worn or broken suspension parts not only affect your comfort whilst driving, they can impact your braking efficiency and even cause your tyres to wear unevenly and prematurely.

We offer a suspension check . Suspension parts can get damaged whilst your driving or like all components, simply deteriorate over time due to wear and tear.

Suspension faults that are left undetected can cause damage to other parts over a period of time increasing your repair bill.  The checks we carry out also look for any signs of leaking, damage or corrosion that may have an impact on the car’s performance, including your car’s ability to corner & brake effectively.
